According to the May 2004 issue of Sports Car International (page 23):
" ... The bad news is that this high performance variant (Z06) will not be available until September 2005. The good news is that both the appearance and performance gap between it and its more sedate bretheren will be far more dramatic than is the case today. Expect wider wheels and tires with corrspondingly wider body work, upgraded brake and suspension components and a 7.0 liter engine delivering somewhere between 500 and 600 horsepower."
"appearance and performance gap between it and its more sedate bretheren will be far more dramatic than is the case today" and I wonder how much all this will cost?
You can guess that a nicely optioned C6 coupe (Z51-MN6) will aproach $55K for starters I can guess the C6 Z06 will exceed $60 large.

I sure hope they're right !!!! :D :D :D
Do they mean the standard Z06 or the high performance variant which is rumored to be in the $ 100,000 plus price range? Everything I have read indicates that there will be a regular Z06 and then the supercar which some have called the Blue Devil.
I have not read anywhere that the base Z06 will produce the numbers indicated in this post. All of those numbers have been attributed to the Super Vette aka Blue Devil.
It will be interesting to see what turns out to be correct.
i apologize in advance for being a cynic, but why would a magazine like sportscar int'l have the inside scoop in the performance c6 before some of the bigger magazine players?
but still, i think the future looks very exciting
