I am about ready to purchase a new set of tires for my Z06. I am wondering what sizes I can look for without replacing my stock wheels, and also where did you get yours and for how much?
Thanks
I have the same question. I just bought a set of Z06 rims for my coupe and I'm wondering what tires to go with.
I was looking at the Yokohama AVS Sports and they make ones that would fit the rears (295/35/18) but they do not make ones that fit the front (265/40/17).
What sizes do you guys go with? (I'm sure a lot of you have replaced tires :yesnod: )
Look at the Kuhmo's and go with the 275 series front. Seen a lot of good talk on the forum about this combination and will be my next set before summer sets in. Rumored about the same dry traction as the Goodyear Supers but better wet. I have to admit the Goodyears are great once the weather get above 60 degrees F. I've been spinning around all winter due to the cold weather, but a week of 60 to 70's here in VA and it's entirely different. These cars are awsome, spend some good money each year and get a good set (I'm going for the Kuhmo's on price and if they aren't what I am looking for, likely back to the "stocks" in a year or so.
MICHELIN Pilot Sport is the way to go. I have had mine on for about a year and love them. Good summer tire, good winter tire and great wear so far. The best price I found was the Tire Rack. :steering:
I'm still on my first set of Goodyears so I don't have any experience with comparisons. I did see an article in "Comsumer Digest" on speed rated tires. All I remember of it was that the Goodyear F1 was rated the best overall tire. They did compare handling, traction in wet etc.... You should be able to locate the article.
