1. After lowering the car get a good 4 wheel alignment
2. Play with tire pressure and launch technique, i.e. practice a lot
3. Go with different tires e.g. drag radials
3. Install polyurethene bushings in the rear suspension
I did 1 and 2, but still had excessive wheel hop (and I am a fairly experienced drag racer), so I had the bushings installed, which eliminated 90% of the wheel hop, I now have drag radials and zero wheel hop.

Here's another helpful tip...
Push your left foot all the way down on the clutch...now quickly rev your motor up to, say, 2000 rpms . At this point, you want to slowly lift your left foot off of the clutch until you "feel" that the car wants to move forward. This is the aspect of drag racing you most want to be in control of.
You can practice this technique at stop signs and stop lights. The idea is to start from a dead stop with maximum excelleration and minimum tire screech.
As you get more better and more comfortable, raise your rpms up...some guys on the forum can launch their cars at 5500 rpms
Think of launching your car at the drag strip as if it were a sling shot...the more you pull it back, the stronger your times will be, provided you're able to get out of the hole with control of course.
This technique should knock at least 2 tenths of a second off of your 60 foot times, everything else , as far as shifting techniques, wheel hop...etc...etc.. I think is a lot easier to remedy...
and don't get frustrated...it took me all summer to get my 60 foot times into the 1.9 range...anything done well takes practice practice practice
good luck! :)

Just remember to have fun.
but i guess that depends on what a full burnout is...
anytime that I have ever spun the tires long enough to see smoke.. the car just blew the tires off. because the tires were too hot.
I have run a 1.75 on F1's before... i usually just spin them over a few times.. to clean them off. and i never go into the water.
My friend just got an 01 and i raced it for him a last weekend. it is bone stock, paper filter and all and i got a 12.31 out of it. but i noticed it wheel hops a good bit worse than my 02.
His car wheel hopes bad enough for the computer to cut power at times... i left alot of time on the table.. because the best 60' i could get was a 1.96.
Whats you guys opinion about replacing the 01 shocks with the 03 and newer shocks... thin this would help wheel hop?
les? Rb?
Also where are the busing that you speak of replacing? and where can you buy them?
