Default clutch question - what wrong?

I never drove hard on my Z06 ever before. But last week, my friend from out-of-town visited me and I took him out for ride to show off the car. It was the first and the only time that I drove hard. During shifting down from 5th to 4th gear, the clutch slipped out . I pulled over opened the hood and I could smell the burn from the clutch. I let it cool down a little bit and drove home. Now, I notice the difference when I start from a stop on 1st gear and shifting to 2nd. The engine rev at higher rpm than before but I don’t get much respond. I would say around 3000rpm but I can only get to 24 mph on first gear. My car has only 8,500 miles on and I have extended warranty. Should I bring it to the dealer and warranty will covered the clutch? Thanks for the comments

I'm not sure here, but I'd guess that they won't replace your clutch since it's a wear and tear item??? Not 100% on that but I doubt it.

I would get it in and have them check it out. If for nothing else but piece of mind. Just tell them that there seems to be a lack of power from first to second. See what happens. Keep us posted.

I took the car to dealer yesterday and the GM advisor wrote up " the engine lacks of power on 1st and 2nd". So they hooked up the computer to the car and went out for the road test, as they stated. They said the engine is normal and nothing wrong. I told them because they are not a daily driver of that car therefore they wouldn't notice the difference. He nicely told me to bring the car back next time and he will road test with me so I can point out the problem for him. What should I tell them?
By the way, he said the clutch warranty for 12k. Good news!
Thanks

I think that it is manditory learning from a dealer "we did not find anything wrong" of course not you drove the car arould the block with the radio blasting for 3 minutes WTF.

Take the service manager for a ride and let him see the problem, if they say there is still nothing wrong then take a new Vette for a ride they should act the same.

Good luck.

BTY I think the clutch in the Vette Sucks they all seem to slip.

Mine slips if I do like 2500 rpm hole shots, " but there is nothing wrong"

just my $ 0.02

If I leave the traction control on, the clutch will slip because the rear brakes are activated to keep the tire from spinning...I always turn off traction control before any aggressive diriving.

Mine acts this way occasionally, then works perfect, I could never figure that out. I thought, clutch is fried...but then it works great.
