When I returned from the Philippines friday, my wife told me all she did while I was away. She painted some rooms, pulled carpet, weatherproofed a yard bench. All painting was accomplished with a spray gun. Well as usual, I washed my car on sat, and guess what? Thompsons water seal over spray all over my new car!!!!! I'm hoping to h@ll that I have enough wax on it that it will wash off, if not does anyone have any ideas? I need a hug...
Thompson's water seal is nothing more than Silicone with a little solids... The clay bar should do the trick

While on vacation at the inlaws a few weeks back my car was accidently covered with red spray paint over spray. When I got home I clay barred the car and was shocked to see how much red paint was taken off the car
Forget the clay bar, Use Thompson's water seal on the rest of the car and you may never have to wax again!!!!
BTW, don't be too hard on the wife, she was trying to help keep the house up while you were away. Even though she needs some Corvette ettiquite lessons, she sounds like a winner.
some people are just dumb.the poor girl probably cooks with a blow torch
I don't know about you guys, but it would be OK with me if my wife were as industrious as "dadsturn"s wife... Think of the extra time I'd have for cruising if I didn't have as many chores to do!
This story is a good reminder to buy a car cover for your garage queen. Then, the bedroom queen can paint away!
Call a reputable body or detail shop and have them tell you what to do. That's what I did and all ended good.

My brother and I sealed my mom's deck a few years ago with one of those Wagner power painters. Well, after spending all day at it the neighbor comes over and says that her car had the stuff we were spraying all over it. All over was not the way to describe it. It was actually fully covered. The slight breeze that day lifted the over spay over a two story house and into the street were it fell on her car. Her husband was completely out of control pissed. He was able to maintain his composure and hide in the house instead of coming after us. This was about 6PM on a Saturday afternoon. After about twenty calls a shop finally answered the phone. We read off the ingredients in the stuff we were spraying and he ultimately said to use Turtle Wax rubbing compound. We spent about four hours each getting it cleaned up.
The husband next door is a happy camper now.

You're fortunate it's Thompson's water seal, that stuff never lasts more than one season on my decks. So it will be gone by the end of summer even if you do nothing..... Hummmmm, have you thought about a clay bar to quicken the process? Seriously, try just a normal wash, that may take 99% off on the first try. If not, each succeeding wash will remove more till it's all gone. Somebody else suggested giving your wife a hug, that would work. May not clean the Thompson's off, but the resulting actions may take your mind off the Vette for a while.
I would thank GOD every day for a wife like her, she's a keeper . doing all that work, and a TEXAS gal, add a 6 pack and your in heaven. After you clean the vette, you should take her out to dinner.
Give your wife a hug, Its only a car and Thompson's will come off with the claybar. Or contact the detailing folk in the detailing section about solvents used to remove Zaino, etc.
