When I returned from the Philippines friday, my wife told me all she did while I was away. She painted some rooms, pulled carpet, weatherproofed a yard bench. All painting was accomplished with a spray gun. Well as usual, I washed my car on sat, and guess what? Thompsons water seal over spray all over my new car!!!!! I'm hoping to h@ll that I have enough wax on it that it will wash off, if not does anyone have any ideas? I need a hug...
I have heard or read? that the clay bar will remove overspray. I clayed my car(clay system bought from Discount Auto Parts). It came out super smooth, but no overspray was on it. It also says on box that it will remove overspray. Hope this helps!
I don't think anyone's suggested this yet: clay bar the car. Buy a clay bar at your local parts store, read the directions and follow them to the letter. That should take care of it.

Yeah, clay bar. Get that Thompsons off - I find it's not worth a crap. Try Behr. I find it's lasts much longer and will definitely keep it from mildewing as quickly.
I had 3M spray adhesive overspray on my rear facia that acetone wouldn't remove but when I used a clay bar the adhesive came right off, so get the clay bar
Forget the clay bar, Use Thompson's water seal on the rest of the car and you may never have to wax again!!!!
BTW, don't be too hard on the wife, she was trying to help keep the house up while you were away. Even though she needs some Corvette ettiquite lessons, she sounds like a winner.
If clay is unsuccessful, you can purchase a gallon of professional grear and tar remover and try that. Or maybe even a spray can of bug and tar remover from Pepboys etc.

Give your wife a hug, Its only a car and Thompson's will come off with the claybar. Or contact the detailing folk in the detailing section about solvents used to remove Zaino, etc.
