Default Which air induction system?

I am considering an air induction upgrade to my 2001 coupe. I have read many good comments about the Donaldson Blackwing system. Does anyone have any information regarding the Vortex Rammer Cold Air System?

Default Hurricane Air Induction

I just installed the Hurricane by West Coast Corvette (see their website) their version of the Vortex. I think they are all the same in the long run. Mine works fine. Added another solid 20-22 hp at speed.

Do a 'Search' on 'Vortex' and you'll find numerous threads. I was very happy with the Blackwing ($200) for over a year. ( Had to remove the Blackwing to make room for my blower ).

Good luck,

Mark

I was happy with the Blackwing as well, but wanted a larger air bridge and to get rid of the accordian coupler (NX install).

I found that selling my Blackwing and buying the Halltech Stinger was a great solution.

The Halltech comes with a HUGE filter that makes the Blackwing look tiny, a large air bridge, and a smooth coupler for $200 -- The same I paid just for the Blackwing.

Going from the Blackwing to the Halltech I did notice a little bit better response off idle, whereas it seemed with the Blackwing I noticed more of a difference over stock when I was up in the RPMs. The Halltech is the only choice in my opinion, I wasn't interested in the Vararam, even if it makes more power, the two I saw personally didn't have a professional fit and finish, and were not a 15 minute install / remove if needed for any reason.

In any case, I will agree that you will see gains from any of them, just different levels, and as I see it, with the Stinger you get the most for your $200. Heck, an air bridge alone was more than that when I was looking 3-4 months ago.

Nothing even comes close, as far as best bang for the buck. Here's what you get:

Please note that you must register in Halltech's site before you can see the $199.00 price.
