Man I'm so sorry to hear that... I hope all works out. Maybe they'll get their stuff together, fix that problem, and you'll be problem free afterward for years.
This problem needs to be reported to NHTSA just like I did. Once NHTSA collected enough reports about GAS LEAKS (safety Issue) then this will forced GM to have a recall. C5/C6 Gas Tanks.
I too have a 2004 which I got in March, so far I have had a leaky diff twice, a broken door lock, a seat with a mind of his own, and one other problem I cant remember...The problem I had was the dealer didnt have parts, and Im betting no dealer does keep parts for Corvettes. The service consultant is always nice and easy, but they have to cover up for lack of parts which is essentially your problem. My vette has never gone in for a repair and had parts waiting, they wont even listen to my complaint, bring it in stupid and we will tell you what is wrong. GM doesnt understand customer service, after all we are just stupid ppl who buy their products no matter what. There is alot wrong with GM but you have to consider this, if the Japanese or Germans built this car, you couldnt afford it. It would cost over 100,000.00 a copy easily. So get the tank fixed and take it out and enjoy the ride, there is nothing you can do to change the mentality at GM headquarters, thats where the problem lies. My daily driver is a Lexus GS and while its a great car, it aint a Vette. My $.02 cents.
GOOD Luck on this!
Corvette is a wonderful car, BUT Chevy sucks !! We fought them with a van on a leaky Winshield, after 7 visits! We still were denied claim.
I hate the Chevy division!!!
I went through the process in Illinois with my '94 Explorer. The process, believe it or not, lasted about 8 weeks. It had to be one of the most stressful experiences I have ever had.
They worked me over real good with trying to give me an extended warranty. No deal. Finally we came to an agreement; $2000 in Ford bucks, negotiate a trade-in with another dealer, buy another Ford product that was of equal or greater value than the '94. All in all I drove the car for about two years and it cost me less than a $100 per month while it was in my possession. Not to bad I guess.
Bad side....I believe that the '94 was never returned to Ford but actually processed like any other used car and re-sold to some poor SOB.
Don't show your emotions when dealing with these people and make sure that you have a nice chronological listing of all issues and the service dates and duration.
