The Top Down Valet addresses a totaly different issue. Being able to raise and lower windows from outside the car. Let the heat out when approacing, to raise and lower top without getting in and out, accessory power options, last highest speed driven, and auto door open in park option.
IMHO a bargin for the functionality and a must for vert owners.
I agree that the Valet is a good invention, but I don't think it is worth $150. I think it is seriously overpriced at $150, but I'll probably end up with one (as I already said) because it's the only show in town.
Something just occurred to me: if the same up pushbutton sends the window all the way up with one shot (just like the down one-shot), how do you adjust it so that it is only part way up? Will that condition now be non-existant?

Ehhhh... the Top Down Valet allows you to raise and lower top without getting in and out??

When you press the down button cant you hit it again to stop the window half way, or press the up button? These are all things were working on, it would help if someone had a wiring schematic for the windows...

I would be more interested in a key fob window feature for less than the $150 price for the Window Valet. 50 bucks for something like that, and they should fly off the shelf.

I guess it's all relative. Comparing the Valet to the first one of these offerings (called the Window Commander)... which cost me (on sale) $220. And, I had to take both door panels off to install.
The Valet @ $150 and 30 second install seemed like a breath of fresh air to me.
I was going to say that I would be interested but wouldn't want to invest more than $50 in it, so $35 is ideal. The Valet (IMHO) is too expensive for all it does (but I may buy one anyway because there is nothing else).
I've put off getting the Top Down because of it's outrageous price. Sounds like you're right on track!
Okay, weve gotten a few schematics. Anyone know where I can get a window switch AND connector?
The way my wiring guy explained it to me: "Hold button for longer than 2-3/10ths of a second and it functions like now. Click on it for less than that and it's express close. IT's that simple. And you can break the circuit anytime you want by
pressing the button again. "

Just tell us when to pay. Is it cheating to NOT think of this as modding my car hate to get started on that long road with something so small and innocent as this.
No it doesn't raise or lower the top. It gives you the ability to manually raise and lower the top without getting in and out.
IMHO Valet = bargin.
lol Who in the world gets out of the car to lower/raise the top. I know it's manual but for heavens sakes, reach around and hit the button, flip back the top (flipping it carefully and bending it properly of course.. not flipping it like your wife did the first time she tried to cram it into the trunk with you running out of the house as if there was a fire in an effort to tackle her to the ground) and pull down the lid. I've never gotten out of my car to raise/lower my top this way. Mind you, I have to get out of my car to use an ATM... but that's more to do with the angle and the lcd display

I recently created a post explaining to people how to raise/lower the top inside the car. It does take some dexterity but I find it quicker to do inside the car. And it helps if you get caught in the rain on the road.
I think convert owner would like to bump there windows down an inch and back up with the door opening and closing. This saves that corner of the fabric roof from wearing and having to slam the door to get it closed because of the tight seal....This feature has been on European converts for years....am I the only one bugged by this.
