I think convert owner would like to bump there windows down an inch and back up with the door opening and closing. This saves that corner of the fabric roof from wearing and having to slam the door to get it closed because of the tight seal....This feature has been on European converts for years....am I the only one bugged by this.
This option is now included on the C6....

My 2003 windows go down with just a touch of the switch but it would be nice to have the same option for it to go up.

A fellow i know has a function on his key fob that lets him open his gas tank from the outside so you don't have to go and pull the lid open on the consul box in the center of the car everytime you need gas.

You wanna know what sucks? GM got the auto-down sequence backwards. When you press once quickly, the windows go all the way down. If you depress the button slightly longer, then the window goes down only as far as the length of time you depress the button. But the window motors are so damned fast, you can't put the window less than halfway down, without opening it too much first, then trying to close it enough to make up for it going too far down.

So, how do you simply put down your window only part way, like 3 inches? You don't. You can't just do a quick press (since the window will go all the way down), and if you hold it more than a second, the window goes half way down, so you have to always go down, then back up. And, if you go too far up, you gotta do it all over again.

I wish the switch worked like my Suburban instead. Press the button and release quickly and the window goes down just a bit. For "auto-down", you need to hold the button down for a second. Makes much more sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if 99% of owners would rather have it that way. But, it's one of those things where you just try to live with, even if it sucks. That's the one thing wrong with GM. Where's the consistency? I think most other cars that have the "auto-down" feature have the second method I described. In fact, I've never encountered a switch like the C5's before.

If I were you, I would make the "auto-up" switch close the windows with a "hold-for-one-second" feature, rather than the confounded quick-press method the stupid C5 switch does for "auto-down". So, if you can make the switch do the auto-up method I described, while at the same time override the obviously-not-ergonomically-tested stock design for "auto-down", too, I'd be in like Flynn.

Funny you should mention that. I've only owned my vert for less than 2 months and I accidently put the top down with the windows in the up position. (I usually lower them first)

Imagine my surprise when I lift the top and both windows opened by themselves.... Cool, I say, cool.

An "up" feature would be cool. When I had the remote start put in my Yukon, I added the remote window feature (which is okay..not that impressive) but the cool part is the the one click up feature for both pass and driver.
