So, it looks like the dealer was correct as you cant combine the rebates. Hmmm, wonder why the other dealer was doing it????? Any comments? By the way, I live in Oklahoma City if that makes a difference.

Eagle Chevrolet in Riverhead is advertising $12,000 off sticker (excludes Commeratives) and Kerbeck in Atlantic city is about the same or even lower. Good Luck

I ordered mine earlier this year from a dealer in Louisiana and had it shipped to MD. Many dealers on this forum will offer you a very similar if not identical black Vette, if they have any left, for prices along the lines above, and can ship it straight to you. Or, for more fun, fly out and drive it home. Any Vette going for more than $11K off sticker is an AWESOME deal, and if you really want one and have the means, you should jump on it ASAP!
As for the Z51, I got it on mine, and I love it!!! Definitely not too harsh. My mother-in-law has a 2 year old Mercury Grand Marquis with a harsher ride IMHO.

Sounds like a great deal on the car. You can upgrade the suspension later if you like. Otherwise, what is the availability of a new car with Z51 with everything you want? If there are none out there that can come close in price, consider getting the one you know is available without the Z51.
Remember, this is a dream car. Decide what makes your heart beat faster and catches your eye! Then once you've decided - BUY IT! Don't compromise on your dreams!
Amen brother. Your Vette is not something to comprimise on! I could have gotten a slightly better deal on a silver '04 set up exactly like mine... but I'm paying $20 extra bucks a month for Black and it is worth every penny.

Well, my search for a new 04 C5 is NOT going well. The black one i like has 260 miles on it. I found out it came from some Parade or something and the kid that drove it drove it hard. There's a little paint chip on one of the headlight covers and a tiny scratch on the rear bumper. I feel for the price I want it to be perfect. The Silver one, which i also like, doesn't have the Z51 or the 3.15 rear end. I've been up all night and all day today searching and calling Chevy dealers all over this region. Anyways, thanks for all the input guys. I'll keep looking. The Loyalty rebate ends Aug 2, so I have to hurry.

For crying out loud stop mucking about and contact one of the supporting dealers, BEAN, FITCHNER, MAXIE PRICE. You do not want to loose the discount and believe me you do not want to settle for less than what you want in a Vette. If you do not get the one you want you will be unhappy about it as long as you own the Vette. MOD fever is bad enough when you start with your perfect Vette. I can not picture what it would be like starting out with less than the perfect car and trying just to MOD to the begining.

OK, I stopped mucking. I emailed all the supporting dealers with the info on the car I would like to purchase. I hope to hear back from them this monday. It's kind of spooky buying a car sight unseen. What happens if I get there to buy it and something is wrong with the car? I'll just have to trust them, after all, they are supporting members!
Thanks again everyone for your information. Most helpful! Soon, I hope, I'll have my Corvette and be an active member of this great forum.

ps, what's mucking???
Slipping and sliding in the muck and mire or cleaning out a septic system = mucking, you pick which one fits better. As far as buying a new 04 from a dealer if there is a waranty, any dealer can, should and generally will handle it. If they do not you can scream at the General, theuough the district rep. and it will get handled. Some folks thik that buying from a distant dealer is like dealing with another country, it is not. If one of them finds you a car talk it over with them they can put your fears to rest quickly.
