Will the wife be a problem?
Any of you guys have or had this type of problem?
The fact is that people who don't love cars, and many women fit into this category, don't understand why anyone would pay so much money for a car that can't do anything as well as other cars in that price bracket except go fast. Let's face it, you could go get a Cadillac or Lexus GS400 for about the same price and they'd offer her all the things she likes.
But mine finally came around to the idea that it wasn't HER car. She wouldn't have to drive it on a regular basis. She wouldn't even have to ride in it all that often, just on the weekends some.
As time has gone by, she's beginning to see that we've joined a unique and exclusive fraternity. She’s seen the reaction of people when we tell them we’ve bought a Corvette. I’ve taken her to some Corvette Shows where she can see how popular they are. She’s come to understand that she’s now a member of a very elite club and she’s starting to like it.
And one more thing, I’ve constantly told her how much I appreciate her letting me have one. She let me have it because she loves me and I’ve made sure she knows that I appreciate her that I KNOW that’s why we’ve got that black money-pit in the garage.
Oh, BTW, HOW BOUT THEM DAWGS!
because she found it to be of much better quality and
reliability. The dealers and company are honest and civilized, as
well. She just had a horror incident with
the steering column locking while by herself and we have had a
lot of problems with GM's thugs and classless
lieing dealers. Quality control on the
Corvette is just horrible.
Now I am letting her have her way and
we are getting a Porsche. Sayanara
GM!!!!!!
Well, as far as I'm concerned, no skin off my butt. I like it better that way.

I am lucky that my current wife is Corvette friendly - has helped me buy my last 3 - and now bought her own 1973 Corvette.
Yes, I'm in heaven; and not complaining.
As long as your wife knows it's your dream, maybe it will work out. At least my wife knows where I am every Sunday--either washing it or driving it. Good luck!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

That's what I did also.
It's a win-win solution.
She had been driving an Eldrado for about 5 years and wass not to thrilled about giving up her Caddy but once she got used to the C5 she likes it alot. The only option I had to agree to was that it had to be an automatic.
The Vette was hands down a better car, more room, less noisy larger, and more power
After the test drive she said lets buy it. I was the one that wanted to wait, since the one we test drove was not what I wanted (it was black with A4 and I wanted Pewter with MN6).The night we went back and bought the one we have, she drove it home, and for the first few months I had a hard time getting to drive it. She has knee problems now, so I get to drive it every day till she gets her second new knee. After that, I will have to perfrom certain services
in order to drive it again!! and no, I am not complaining.
) has been in mine once. She got out and started complaining about how low the car was and the ride.
So I immediately had it lowered and added Hotchkis sway bars and Bilstein shocks.
No problems since then.

Nice
