8500 plus under sticker price. I was pleased for my Torch Red 04 with the SB package.

Checkout the dealers here on the forum - Kerbeck, Monica @ Maxie Price, Rick Daniel, Ken Fitchner Chevy or the VetteNet. There are some great deals happening right now. Look at Ken Fitchner's newsletters for the current GM incentives, rebates, etc.

Go get it before the leaves start turning!!!

I've seen the '04s advertised for $10-12K off MSRP. Shop around, especially at some of our forum dealers. There are great deals to be had on remaining C5's right now.

Don't settle for at least $10K off. Work at it and get a little more. This is one of the best times ever.

Just bought a Coupe with MSRP of $50K for $40K. Not a Vert, but you should be able get at least $10k off, or more, since the MSRP is higher. But, new '04 are getting in short supply in everything but Red, Black or Silver, so don't wait too long,

A month ago I got a Mag Red Vert 6 speed, Equip. like you said for $11,000 off. But I think you are going to have a little trouble finding Mag. Red. With light oak/light oak will be even more difficult to find. Good Luck!

Call Steve Carlin at Hendrick Motor Mall in Cary, NC; best sales rep I have EVER dealt with and will match any price. They usually have a big inventory. Steve's number is (cell) 919-306-1171, toll free 1-888-CARY AUTO or lastly, his email is gr8deel@aol.com. This guy is fantastic. C5 XTC

Now is definitely the best time to buy a vette. I went to my local dealer and after haggling and owrking him off another local dealer, managed to buy my z06 AT INVOICE. I think thats around $43K for the z06 (so thats about 10K off). When the deal was done, the sales manager came to shake my hand for being the first ever at that delaer to get a corvette at invoice.

A little haggling and dealer competition goes a long way.

But you better get on the ball - there are many ways to search dealerships on the internet to see what they have in stock. Happy hunting

I just bought my 04 Coupe 1SB 2 1/2 weeks ago. 12.5K off sticker. My dealer was wiping the taste of my impromptu tongue kiss off for a week. I did notice they are starting to run out of color combos now though. So get it while there still is a choice!!

No vert here, but I paid $10K below MSRP on my coupe 3-1/2 months ago.

.

I don't doubt that he told you that, and I think you got a great deal, but I find it VERY hard to believe that he was being truthful
