AC Delco AGM question

AC Delco AGM question

Can anyone out there still running with the Delco AGM battery tell me exactly what the battery designation is, does it say AGM anywhere on the battery. I have a 78-7YR Professional, and need to know if this is the AGM or just a lead acid.

I think when it is an AGM there is a P in the part number AGM 78P7YR, I bought one last year it started my car twice. P denotes a AGM battery

Mine is covered at the moment and I don't remember the P/N for the AGM. However, if yours is an AGM it will state such on one of the labels. The print is small though and you will have to look closely for it. Also, according to this, GM did not go to the lighter AGM batteries from the factory until model year 2001: C5 Model Year Changes
