glad to know that others remember....what i failed to mention in the earlier thread was that potholes are nothing compare to sink holes such as the one on Almeda which closed it down for months, a couple of years back...talk about swallowing Hondas, that was big enough to swallow an 18-wheeler.....as for construction, i remember driving thru Houston on my honeymoon decades ago before moving back...at that time they were working on I45, loop 610, the SouthWorst Fwy and US 59....proof that some things never change

I was in Houston for a couple of weeks in 1982 and I coudn't believe what a dump the place was! Mattresses, burned out cars, tires, boxes, and other trash just laying around on the side of the interstates!

I'm glad I live on the NW side of town. Live in Cypress and work in JV. The nine miles of road I drive to work aren't that bad. But dang, it takes me 30-45 minutes just to go nine miles.

The humidity is terrible with that heat, dam I am glad I live in Cali.

Thank you!

Geez guys, at least someone said something positive. I must agree we have a lot of construction and potholes!!! but I live in it and have to deal with it. I don't go downtown if I don't have to and pretty much stay on the hwys. True about Lee Brown who didn't do anything for the city!

Hey wallstAL, today everyone is talking about the GREAT weather we have here wanna come back? but then.. I can understand Cali w/no humidity!

What you don't like our heat and humidity ! It is good for the skin and doesn't bother our Vette's like it does a Rustang . As for the streets that is why a have Z51 & 3.15 !!!

And you wonder why the vehicle of choice in this city is a pickup truck or SUV? In addition all the residential neighborhoods are requesting speed bumps half of which are too high and all seem to smack the air dam. You never know how bad the roads are in this town until you drive them in a vette. Simply unbelievable!!!!!!!!

Don't know what happened, but I've been here over 25 years and they've always been dangerous as hell;
try riding a rigid frame motorcycle here...pot holes big enuff to swallow you.
