Very interesting thread, guys - glad I asked. I had to laugh a bit when I heard that some cops just wanna talk to a Vette owner and will invent an excuse to pay us a visit.

My experience is we as a group probably drive "closer to the edge" whether it's just being stupid or hearing that roar of the aftermarket exhaust. I have yet to be stopped in over a year owning the Vette.

I don't think LEO's focus on Vettes - but the shiny car, loud pipes,, etc. help draw extra attention. You just have to be more careful about when and where you do it. If you drive like a jerk, weaving in and out of traffic and doing other obvious things, I think you'll get pinched!

Been driving corvettes for 32 years and never had a ticket. Not that I didn't deserve one mind you. Driving anything else ( currently a Red Yukon ) get looked at al the time.
Here in Taxachusetts, they have just passed a new law - fines for loud exhaust systems - (only in Taxachusetts ).
Good thing I took off the Bullets, now I have to worry about the PRT's. Law should take effect next month.

YEs....No....Maybe....depends on the speed trap your passing and what your doing at the time you pass. I find a nice wave at the LEO usually gets him to take notice.....I try to only wave at the ones on the opposite side of the highway.

How did you know what I looked like? In small towns, you get to know the police and vise-versa. Out on the highway, you'd better have your detector working.

Here in the carolinas and the I95 corridor the most stopped car are 3-5 year old Lexus and Infinties. Gray, silver or black with very dark tinted windows. Those are the real LEO magnets. and I wonder way ???

Cop magnet is an understatement. I drive my 1986 Chrysler new Yorker at high rates of speed & have never been pulled over. I drive my 2002 Electron Blue Corvette & I am a target

I feel like I'm flying under the radar with my black vette. That "arrest-me-red" sure catches a lot more attention from everyone. So hopefully black will keep me out of sight for a while...mostly because I'll be in the driveway all day long trying to keep it clean

I get radar-clocked 10X more often in my Corvette than I do in my Explorer. Every now and then I see a speedtrap in advance and slow down at least 10 mph under the speed limit, just to see the look on the cop's face when I go by and his gun clocks me way under the limit.
