Default Future C5 buyer

Hello,
I'm considering the purchase of a Corvette next year, so I joined this site to lurk a bit and learn more about the C5 or Z06. I'm also hoping that with the introduction of the C6, prices might drop a little for the 2002-2004 models by next fall.

I really wanted to buy a MK IV Supra, but I refuse to pay 25-30K for a 10 year old car. The Vettes are the only thing that are as good (if not better) than the Supra, ergo my decision.

In any case, hello to all. My car performance experience/familiarity is mostly limited to GNs, DSM's, WRX's, Supras and RX7s, so I am sure there will be a large learning curve, etc.

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome aboard. I think of a better place than CF for finding all the info you want and getting your questions answered. Great bunch of knowledgable people around the forum.

You should be able to find a nice deal on a used C5 with-in the next year.

By the way, just to help your Corvette learning.

A Z06 (2001-2004 models anyway) IS a C5.

Default Supra?????

You'll be pleasently suprized with any C5 compared to any Import.
The looks, comments, girls, etc, etc...
Yea, some imports are fast, but not like a V8.
You'll kick *** on all your import friends.
Just my two cents..............

Thanks, I'm learning already!

All I'm hoping for is a reliable, 400 WHP pump gas sportscar. With a few intelligent and well researched and executed mods, I think I have found it in the C5's.

And just to clarify, I hang out with the most anti rice import crowd you'll ever meet- no Hondas, no stickers, no wings, no damn bodykit crap! I love all fast cars- domestics, imports exotics. As long as it's no BS and fast.

Thanks all. Glad to be here, and I hope I'll learn a lot as I go.
