To all I want to apologize for posting the M3 "race" story last night. I certainly did not want to offend anyone or break the rules. I was up late and just wondering if the M3 is all that powerful considering what they cost. Out here a "punk" is a a hard-techno-rock -n-roll style that some guys are loud and proud to be( so it wasn't an offensive term).
As far as the story goes we sprinted a short distance in a staight line -we didn't weave in and out of traffic recklessy (nor would I do so) so maybe the term "race" was innacurate.Anyways I hope to stay a part of this forum. I really enjoy and appreciate all the info and input from everyone
I wouldn't be concerned with it. Many have posted the road story and been lambasted. Your in good company. Besides, you should see some of my dumb *** posts. Thanks for clearing up the punk thing, I didn't get it that way the first time, but you're right it is a whole genre thing.
Don't worry about ruffling a little feathers now and then. The only guy I have ever heard of that got kicked off this forum was GreyVette, about a year ago.
it's ok, it happens to many of us here. It is sometimes hard to resist a challenge from a guy in the opposite lane especially when youre driving a Vette and you know you can take him. Evos, Subarus and Hondas do that to me whenever Im driving the C5 but it's up to you to give in. I rather not, and watch them weave in and out of traffic. There's no point endangering other people for stupid games like these. Take it to the track, youll have more fun and youll face faster cars that's worth wasting your fuel on.
Just kidding. Hey, M3's are nice, the new ones coming stock with 333 Hp. They weigh a bit more, but they handle great.
At an autocross that we attended last year, of the top ten overall finishers there were 8 M3's, 1 S2000, and 1 Corvette. Yeah, you can take 'em on the freeway and at the drag, but it's more of a challange at the track and autocross.

Because I am very vocal about some issues, I am impressed with your apology. It takes a big man especially if your young.. to buckle down to the rules of this forum. This forum is one of the most popular and successful automotive forums on the internet. with 55,000 plus members , it is a testamonial to doing things right. I too am big enough to apologise for laying into you... I refer to it as "tough love", the apology is to you personally, but I would do it again in an instant to anyone who came in like you did. We all learn on a daily basis. I hope this will make you a better member and again welcome to the forum.
Remember too, that some members are a bit old and hence, grouchy at times. Often they forget what they did when they had the "punch" in their right feet. I'm 46 but feel as if I am 21 all over again when I'm in the C5. Getting arrested for wreckless driving, carrying illegal stuff, etc was no fun at the time but I think if I were to go back in time, I'd probably do it all over again.
