When I had my 2000 Coupe I couldn't wait to do the next mod. I spent a couple thousand dollars in the short time I had it(4 months, seemed like a lot longer). Now that I have bought the new Z, I just have no ambition to do any mods. Hard enough work keeping the black clean, but worth it. What's wrong with me? Getting older I guess. Car was already lowered by the dealer. Oh wait, there is my first mod, that d***ed cags. Ok ambition is back...alls well!

getting old has nothing to do with it mod fever never go's away i am thinking of doing a cam and z06 intake but now i am just thinking of getting a Z06 ?? but then it will just start all over again . headers, wheels, rotors ,and 5 more years with a car payment , maybe just sell it and run away fast and never look back yea that will happen !
The mod fever never stops!!! I might be put on hold because of lack of time or money. I told my wife I was getting the vette because it was great the way it was and I was not going to do anything to it. Just look at my sig..............
All people are different, but I don't think it has anything to do with age, I can't wait to do my next mod...where as my father-in-law wants any of his vehicles to remain as close to stock as possible... We both think each other is crazy...
Every time I start thinking about modding mine, I remember my 1971 Dodge that I put the 6-pack and headers on.
The one that had a flat-spot the size of Kansas when I tried to start, the one that the headers scraped on every speed bump, the one that wouldn't idle and backfired through the carburators.
Then I read here where one guy's air intake makes some god-awful whistle, another takes his to two different tuners and it runs worse than it did when he started, another tells me that to do a $6,000 supercharger right, I'll need another $10,000 in other modifications nobody ever said a word about...
Then I think about the fact that I haven't raced anybody since I was 19 years old.

Well, so far getting old hasn't put the stop to my mod fever. I'd bet that there will be something come along for the Z that you find you just have to have.

I just spent the afternoon crawling around on the floor of my garage to make room for a set of shorty headers. I will reverse the process tomorrow when I start the install side of things....and in my early 40's I'm not a spring chicken, either.
Maybe I should restate what I really meant to say and didn't do a very good job now that I read it again.
This car is so much of an improvement over the coupe I had. I can only picture myself using about 30% of this cars capability.(Huh?)
I would just want to make sure anything I did was actually an improvement (hard to do)and not just change for the sake of change.
The car is so perfect(for me).....insert forum flaming here.......that I just can't picture improving it that much. I am however, starting with CAGS defeat and CLB if I ever get back home.
