Recently my key fob would do everything but unlock the car every now and then, and last night it completely stopped working and i put a new battery in and it didn't solve the problem. Anyone ever experience this? Is there a module in the car that could be malfunctioning or what? Thanks in advance..
Hey John don't get excited! that's normal. Do you have a manual?
All you need to do is to re program it after the battery replacement. I think you have to hold down the unlock button and point it at the car until the car beeps to respond. It's kind of a rolling code type protection sytem. try it and let me know if you have a problem.
The procedure that you used is called SYNC. The other procedure is FOB training! You have to train the FOBs to the receiver. You can train up to THREE fobs on the same car. Once they are properly trained, if they stopp working a SYNC will usually get them working again!
You would have to retrain your FOBs if you got a new fob or replaced the car battery.
