As far as getting a better price directly from the vendor, would really be an unfair situation to the vendors that sell the product. The reason I'm saying this is this came up back around the beginning of the year after Christmas.
I think your best bet would be to go through someone like Shawn or possibly Mike and Bill at Xtreme Motorsports and present a list of 10 - 15 legitimate buyers.
I have one already - and if you have a convertible, it's the only way to fly. I wish Chevrolet had made this a feature, or at the very minimum an option.
As far as taking the car in for service, I'd remove the module. The dealer service departments usually plug in their computer, and this would be in the way. As small as it is - things like this have a funny way of disappearing.......
