Default Window Valet

I am seriously considering the purchase of a "window Valet" where you can roll up/down the window with the FOB. Have a 2004 Convertible. Has anyone had any problems with the " Valets" ?

truble,

best mod I ever bought. Makes it so much more convenient to take the top down plus all the other little things you can do with it. Well worth the money.

First and so far only mod I have made and well worth the money. I think the best part is not having to get back in the car to put the windows up after you have put the top up.

Got mine about two ago for the 2004 Vert. Haven't had a chance to use it much. Going to Nashville/BG next week on vacation so we'll get to use it a lot, if it doesn't rain all week!!!!

One of the best gizmo's I've bought. That getting back in the car to insert the key and raise the windows after putting up the top was a pain in the arzzz!!!!!!!!!!

What do you do when you need to take the car in for service? do you remove the module? If you do is it fair to assume that you would need to reprogram when you re-install?

Thanks

From my understanding, the settings are stored in ROM and so you can unplug it at anytime without changing your settings (that is when the chip is installed) in case you have to take it in for servicing. I haven't tried it though and I am curious myself. I am sure the ones that told me this will chime in soon.

Hey I looking to buy one. I have the feature on my BMW and love it.

I would think on the Vette it would be much better only because it means less times the CL is turned on and off...

Really I want one so if there is a group order on it and we can save some money lets try to put something together.

Who carries these for the best price?

Thanks

I love mine, I also like the feature that unlocks the doors when you place the trans in park, or engage the emergency brake. The feature that dose this that comes with the Vette requires that you turn the engine off before the doors unlock.
According to the instructions when you need to remove it the settings are retained.

I love mine too!

The only problem that I have had with it is that it doesn't always let the windows down. No matter how many times I try it, it just won't do it. This is rather infrequent though. Also, you have to make sure that when you let your windows back up, make sure they stay up before leaving the vette. This happened to me. I was taking my wife to dinner and I let the windows up with the valet. I watched them start to go up and then we went inside the restaurant. When we returned, the windows were down. It has a built in safety mechanism that if something obstructs the window from going up, it will let the windows back down. I think the molding was the obstruction. I really haven't found the cause of it yet. That happens sometimes too. I hope this helps!

Default Window Valet

Just installed one in my o4 Vert this weekend at the NCM event. After intermittent showers, putting the top up/down was getting to be a hassle.
Valet in bang, windows up, no problem. Highly recommend it. Should be in the car from the factory.
Get one. You'll love it.

Definately the best non-performance I have purchased. A must have with a 'vert! Never had any problems. Go for it.

I'd be interested in a group purchase for this gizmo as well.
