Default Express window down DISABLE?

As odd as this may sound, I HATE the express down feature, and find that there are many more times than not when I just want to crack the window open just a bit, typically when I've parked the car, but sometimes when I'm on the Freeway. Of course, what I do now is tap the down button, I tap the up button, the window is down too far, and I have to tap the up button again to get it just cracked open (about enough to fit my pinky into)

Is there a way to turn OFF express down?

I don't know of any way to eliminate this feature, but it's also a pet peeve of mind. It is supposed to work as both auto down (with a tap) and gradual down when you keep your finger on the switch. It doesn't work as a gradual down, or at least mine won't. I complained to my useless dealer about this as mine is under warranty and they said it is working properly and that I'm not doing it right. I challenged them to do it, and they couldn't either. Their contention is that you have to hit the button once and then hit it again to stop it. Ridiculous! The service manual indicates one touch for rapid down and holding the button for a controlled gradual down. GM can't make a two way switch apparently, because mine will never do a gradual down. However, my Acura 3.2TL has no problem with this feature... keep your finger on the button and the window stops when you release your finger. Hit the button once and the window goes all the way down. For a 50G car, you would think a simple window switch would work as intended. I feel your pain.

Man, isn't life funny - I have the opposite problem. My windows won't go down UNLESS I hold the button down!

Wanna switch switches?

I have the same problem. Attempts at minor window adjustments down
result (over half of the time) in the drivers window going completely down.

Gee guys. Be happy that the window even goes down! Those power window motors WILL fail soon anyway.

Mine works just fine. Having said that, I have to say it works just the opposite of all my other cars. On all my other cars, you can tap the window down all you want. If you want express down, you hold the switch down for a second or two then release and it goes into express mode. In the VETTE, you tap the switch once and it's in express mode. If you want to tap it down a little at a time, you have to hold the button down a second then release.
