Default C-5 as an everyday driver

I am going to be making the move from the frozen tundra of central NY to sunny south florida in a couple months. I am going to buy a C-5 no question. But how I use it will determine how much I spend on it. I just want to hear people's opinion on using their C-5 as an everyday driver. No kids, so I am not concerned about the people space. As long as he clubs fit I am happy with cargo room. Thanks in advance.

Many are used as a DD. Not a thing wrong with that. Just pick your parking spaces carefully!!

First off, buy a jetski so you can get to work during the hurricane's. I'd buy a tarp to keep the back carpet clean as the clubs and bag pick up crap off the course.
The C5 is a great daily driver rural or city. She's comfy and gets better mpg than most cars with half the h.p.
Make sure to keep it waxed and waxed to protect it from all the road grime and keep her pretty.

Two sets of clubs will fit with room for a couple bags and My 2000 coupe is a daily driver with over 122000 miles on it and have been all over the country. Too good a car to store.

I don't think that you'll have any problems using the C5 as a daily driver. You will hear from a lot of folks who do it! After all it's a Chevrolet!

Mine is a D/D in central Florida. 65,000 miles and running strong. These cars love to be driven.
I even sometimes run service calls in the Vette.
I wash her two or three times a week and wax every her about every other week. Gotta keep those water spots off in the Florida sun.
Buy a C5 and drive it like you stole it.

This car performs well as a DD, but the more you drive it, the more miles and rock chips will accumulate.
This is one car whose trade in value will go down quickly with several miles, etc. on it. (though many have found one in great shape with those high miles!)
Like a dealer told me one time...this is one car that the majority of buyers just won't consider with high mileage(at least on a dealer lot).

The flip side, is that here is a car that was made to drive...so drive it as often as you wish. Why save it "like new" for someone else down the road??? If everytime you drive this car, it brings you great satisfaction(which it most certainly does), then why not spend a greater amount of your time, enjoying those pleasurable feelings!! It might feel really good to start your workday off, by enjoying a ride in to work in the Vette!!!

Mine is usually driven every day. I can get two full cart size golf bags, and luggage for two people for 2 days in the back. And a good looking blond golferette in the front.

BTW - we play golf year 'round down here and in all four seasons. Beer Season, Pizza Season, College Football Season and NASCAR Season.

No problem at all as a DD. 20 mpg around town and that great feeling to start the day. I say do it!

I live in SW Florida and the 2 cars in my sig are our only cars so one or the other gets driven every day. You won't regret leaving NYS (as I did 4 years ago) and moving to FL and you won't regret getting a C5 as a DD.

All of my last 4 vette's have been daily drivers, 95 A4 coupe, 96 A4 vert, 99 MN6 coupe and now my 03 Z. They just keep getting better. My Z is a great daily driver.

And yes two sets of golf clubs will fit in the rear.

Take an umbrella. You may need a backup ride to get you through the storms - low door sills make for a wet azz! Oh, and make sure you carry a towel or drying cloth with you at all times since it rains every afternoon like clockwork in the summer (dry immediately or the dreaded acid rain spots will eat into your paint). And maybe a bra to protect the nose from all the "love bugs" flying around. Good luck!!!

I drive, I would guess further than most on this forum to work everyday (80 miles round trip) and I use my 04 vette as my daily driver. Its the only way I could get up and get to work by 6AM everyday, knowing I get to drive a brand new spiral gray 04 coupe.

First, welcome to South Florida soon. I drive my Z06 as a daily driver down here with no problems. On my last Vette (93), I put on over 125,000 miles in 5 years and enjoyed every mile. The only thing to remember about driving one every day is that most of the idiots in the SUV's don't have their side mirrors tilted down where they can see you. You get used to dodging them, though. I drive mine every day...rain or shine. That is what they were built for.

M6 2000 2nd Vette as a daily driver. 1st one had almost 200k miles. They are really economy cars in disguise. I regularly get 25 MPG in Washington DC stop and go traffic. Really no BS. Enjoy the car and don't worry about resale. It is not an investment and why leave it to your heirs anyway.

I racked up more miles on it last year than my daily driver.
