Pull fuses 25 and 28? Wait a while, try again. Pull the battery, wait, try again. Back and forth on the wheel hard - nothing will work - call a flat bed - buy a CLB!

Sorry 'bout you luck - Sucks GM could not address this in seven years!

Turn the key on and off (without starting the car) while moving the steering wheel left and right or try holding it clockwise while cycling the ignition and then counterclockwise. I've always heard that removing and reinstalling the #25 fuse (passenger footwell) helps, but if your actuator is shot, you're out of luck. I HAD to get mine flatbedded to the dealership and promptly installed the bypass after I received the car back.

The only time the steering lock wil unlock is during cycling of the power. Get the CLB BTW There has been over 1850 threads on this subject on the Corvette forum!!!

No need to apologize. The majority of us don't mind answering your question(s) no matter how many times it has been asked before.
Good luck and let us know how it comes out.

For what it's worth when mine locked up I went bananas at it for about half an hour then gave up. Pulled the lock connector under the steering column and went for a sandwich.

When I came back and reconnected it the column unlocked. While it was in a good mood I installed the CLB I had sitting in the garage.

I think it was just pure fluke, but just maybe it might work for you if all else fails (as it may well do).

I was told by a flatbed driver that if you give the column a sharp blow in the area of the lock plate it will release every time! Says he does this when he brings them to the dealer! { I have never tried this} good luck

Don't apologize for posting this question. It takes a while to get this through people's thick heads (like mine) that it WILL happen to you.
Put in the CLB last night. It is great not sitting in the car waiting hopefully for the sound that your steering wheel is unlocked.
Thanks again Dave68. I suppose EvilTwin should get some appreciation for his relentless efforts in converting people to the CLB, too.

Timing is everything. Don't delay installing a CLB.

I got my 2002 Coupe just a couple of weeks ago. Had it in for service at the dealer to replace a dead battery a week later - and they did the recall work. Around then, I ordered a CLB from Thunder Racing, which is scheduled to be delivered today.

This morning, the column locked and my baby is sitting in my driveway while I'm at work. I guess I'll try some of the tips in this thread (and others) to try to get it to unlock.

As Max Smart always said "Missed it by that much!"
