Which one of these mufflers will give the best deep and low rumble sound I am looking for w/o being "Harley straight pipe" loud? I will be putting on headers (either LT or Shorties) w/an X-pipe also. I am looking for that 60's rumble sound. Is this even possble with the firing order of the C-5 LS1 motor? I am considering Corsa, Borla, GHL, or B&B--do they all sound that much different or is it just a matter of loudness? Thanks for all of you input.
I would put the headers on first, that will make a bigger difference than exhaust. Corsa is what i have but it is more on the lines of a indy race car sound at wot.
If you wat the burble and super loud headers with the loud mouths would make your fillings fall out.
longtubes no cats x-pipe stinger catback and a G5X2 cam will give you what you are looking for.
Thanks for the feedback. Maybe my message is confusing--I am looking for the 60's low end rumble which I remember from yesterday.
Almost a sleeper sound at idle--kinda like a stock Chevelle with a "pitbull" inside. Not looking for "ear splitting" loudness. Take care!
Corsas are nice but not the 60's sound; I have heard GHLs and did not like them. The sound to me didn't match the Corvette....just not something I would want.

Magnaflow - great deep tone, but quiet, or flowmaster - the right sound, maybe not the best performance, all the others are a tad too motor boat like or high pitched. Borla stingers do well too.

Just my 2c.
Your 2c is right on !! I have tried them all and ended up with the magnaflows with the x pipe. When you first put them on they seem quiet, but after about 500 miles they seem to burn in and they get louder / deeper. I was also searching for the deep sound of the sixties and early 70's and I feel that these come as close as your going to get.
All the others were louder, but had that motor boat sound to them.
I had a 68 vert with headers and Dynomax super turbo mufflers and have found Borla Stingers to be closest in idle rumble to that "60s sound" everyone craves.
I have the corsa tourings now, I started out when my car was stock with just corsa indys, and an x pipe, sounded good. Put on LT headers, I thought it made the car sound kind of exotic with the indys x -pipe and LT's. Next step was I removed my cats. The car at this point IMO got way too loud! I had a cam install and switched my corsa indys to tourings, still no cats, and car has the sound your talking about.
I know thats not really advice but its my expirience, and maybe it will help you make a decision. Good Luck and let us know how you make out.

You just described the dual tip Borla Stingers to a tee. If you want to hear them you can private message me your phone number and I will hold the phone to the exhaust pipes and have my wife rev the engine.

I have not heard any exhuast system that is louder than the B&B Bullets. I've had the Borla Strait Pipes as well. I get compliments all the time on my Bullets. A guy came up to me the other day and said, " Man that thing sounds and looks mean."
This guy also was an owner of a Mustang and a WRX. He just kept giving me compliments and saying that I made a great choice on my car.
With the Magnums how annoying is the resonance--I have a convertible so I am worried aboutthe resonance only 1/2 of the time.

I have ridden in a Magnum equipped C5 a couple of times. I have also ridden in a Borla equipped Vert. The Borlas have resonance to a moderate degree depending on your rpm range.
The Magnum coupe had very little resonance in my opinion.
My GHL Bullets were shipped yesterday. I also have an X pipe coming from Magnaflow.
Christmas is coming sooner this year. I have Z06 Ti right now and they are very mild with no resonance.
