Does anyone else use these? Any bad experiences with them? I typically cover my car when its in my temporary garage (the cat thread caused that) and use it prior to putting my cover on. So far so good. Where do you draw the line as for when you don't want to use this and a wash is required?
As its name implies it is a duster, and a very good one. But I only use it if there is light dust on the car. You shouldn't rub hard with it to try to remove dirt or water marks.
Like mentioned above, it's ONLY for dusting, not cleaning. I spend about 30 seconds dusting my car when I get home and my black roadster always looks just washed.
I use mine dailey unless the car has gotten wet which is NEVER cause it would melt and wash the clear coat off. I have two though. A small one for the lower portions of the cars and the bigger one for the top. More dirt on the bottom than the top so in case something scratchy is on the bottom it doens't harm the top. So far so good.

I do the same thing with mine. I think this has really saved the paint on my car. I always use the duster just before I put the cover on. I like to use it before I wipe any surfaces with detail spray and a terry cloth towel. This is a great tool and I would not go to any car show without one. Have Fun.

Just make sure you wrap it in newpaper for a few days before you use it. And flip it around, changing the position of the threads several times during that.
Works great! But only for light dust, not for cleaning.

I love my CCD! I use it pretty much every single day. I got lucky for about a 5-6 week stretch here I didn't get caught in the rain, so I never needed to wash my C5, I would just use the duster once a day (sometimes twice!)
A CCD should come in the trunk of every black car!
I use mine a lot on my MY Coupe! I actually use it to get rid of all that crud that settles on the lips of the tailights and license plate Seems to work on the pretty heavy stuff for me!
And no, you're not supposed to wash it, it's supposed to work better the dirtier it gets
If your talking about the duster itself if you wash it you will remove the oils that collect the dust. It does not matter how dirty it gets, the more you use it the better it gets.
For "dust" removal it is "priceless". I was extremely skeptical of these things until I tried one. I was washing the clear coat off my car because everytime it got dusty I would wash it. After dusting w/the CD, the car looks like it was just polished. Like someone mentioned before, just make sure you prep it right and wrap it in newspaper for 48 hours to let the excess ingredients that they soak the fibers in seep out. After this, the CD should leave no streaks on your car. One more thing, don't use it on your car after it has been sitting in the sun....the finish will be too hot and some streaking will occur.
