What do you guys think of this intake listed on ebay? There are many different distributors selling this similar item. It seems to be similar to the K&N setup. I was looking for deals on a Donaldson Blackwing and came across this.
I also bought that exact setup from another vendor. To me it is a fine product for the money. It doesn't look cheap. My latest Ecklers catalog features it as a new product for $220! If you want to spend more money, there are better intakes. It all depends on how much it is worth it to you and the type of driving you do!

I agree , it all depends on how much you want to spend. I still believe in the old phrase "you get what you pay for" from a looks stand point, it looks really nice..performance wise, I wouldn't count on it for too much. The metal, or chrome actually will heat up the air going through it I would rather have cooler air....but to each his own.
I almost bought one like that but did some research,,and also I did not like all the negative buyer feedback I saw.
As long as there is a hole in the T-tube for attaching the smog pump hose, it should be fine. It looks very similar to the WCC offering, though I don't recognize those filters. Even if you have to buy replacement K&Ns, you'll still come out ahead.
Stay away from intakes with metal runners. The aluminum (in this case) will tend to radiate heat from the engine bay into the airflow that is heading into the throttle body. The last thing we need is heated intake air and you'll notice that most intake systems are made of plastic - this is not merely for weight savings.
As far as the best bang for the buck, look into the Halltech Stinger-R. For the same price (or less) as the Blackwing, you get (in addition to the massive air filter) a larger-than-stocj airbridge and smooth throttlebody coupler. That's a bargain that just can't be beat, IMO.

Dave is right about the metal tubes. I always advised against the metal tubes because they hold heat. I would use our system, the MTI true ram air. You want to force cold, dense, air into the intake.
