I hit 148 at the end of the front straight at Memphis, which is the fastest track I have raced on.

Rev limiter in 4th gear on the back straight of VIR... guess that's 145ish.

Got caught going 152 in my Cobra vert when I was 18, got luck and got let off (long story) so I really don't need to push my luck in the Z06. I used my get out of jail free card allready.

Naturally, I haven't done this myself. However, on a long stretch of lonely road, at two in the morning, I know that mine will hold the speedometer steady at 165 with a small amount of travel still left on the accelerator. For anyone interested, I am certain it can hold that speed comfortable for more than 65 miles before slowing on approach to a small town. Again, I am not making a confession of running at three times the speed limit.. only stating that I know my Z06 could do it.

I had to laugh at this one! I drove through AL this past summer and could not believe how many pickup trucks wanted to take me on...unbelievable. Nearly every time I passed a pickup on the freeway they would whip back around me and take off again. I couldn't stop laughing at them. And I wasn't flaunting my speed or anything...really...I wasn't!

I wonder if those guys have exhaust leaks in their cabs or something. Z06 vs Pickup truck...hmm let's see now...which one will be faster...hmm...Come on Bubba...let's see what she'll do!

Tough to make that generalization though. There are some pretty fast pickups out there. A stock F350 like mine has 565 ft-lbs of torque. I've read about modded ones making over 800 ft-lbs!
Then there's the Lightning and the new Dodge. Put a corner in the road and its a different story...

I hit 180 on A60 a month or so ago, 3 lanes, clear sky, no traffic, no speed limits, and no turns
