I've read that the 05 C6 is supposed to be lighter than the C5. the C5, from what I have read, the coupe weighs in at 3221 and the C6 at 3245. Are these the correct numbers for these cars?
...and you could get rid of most of that extra weight by swapping out two OEM things - the cat-back exhaust and the runflats. Getting rid of runflats will reduce your C5's weight by 26+lbs and installing Borla Stingers or a Z06's titanium cat-back will chop off approx. 20 lbs (guestimate) or more.

Gee... I sure hope LiquidD1 doesn't go put all us poor folks in our places for saying we like the heavier C5(with the bigger trunk!!) when we are kidding ourselves and are secretly lusting after the C6...
I checked the door sticker on my 2003 A4 Coupe this morning and the curb weight is listed as 3663 lb. That's considerablly heavier than what's in the specs.
What you saw on the door was GVRW (Gross Vehicle Weight with passenger and contents). The 2004 Vert says: 3651lbs, and it also says not to exceed 399lbs in passenger and contents, so if you subtract the 399 from the 3651 (for a 2004 vert), the curb weight is 3252.

What you're looking at is the maximum load the vehicle is capable of handling with the tires that come with the car.
You're right in that the "399lbs" comes from the tire sticker, but the GVWR is from the GM sticker and states 3651lbs. This is still the weight including all passengers and contents. I didn't look up the net capacity, but assumed that it is close to the 399 of the tire spec.
