Default problem with blinker

whenever i push the turn signal lever down to signal left the clicking sound is very rapid and the blinker does not work, the bulb works fine with the hazard though, also DRL is off on the left

Sounds like a classic bad bulb execpt for it working with hazards. How old are the bulbs? If over 5 years I would consider replacing all of them. Just to be safe

And while you're in there you should check out the housing (especially just above the bulb) - the heat of the bulbs sometimes melts a hole in the housing alowing water to drip on the bulb.

Once you've rplaced the bulb you may want to consider whether you disable the DRLs. Pulling the A2 fuze will disable them. Just gives a couple of DIC codes for the approach light functions which are lost.

Lots of discussion on pros and cons of DRLs but they do generate a lot of heat. Some members like tham as a safety feature. My opinion is that if the "problem driver" can't see a Vette coming best you go defensive anyhow! JMHO.

Replacing turn signal light's not easy job. Dealer charges close to 100.00 have seen posts about an easy way to do it.

I paid $35 to have the right side blinker changed! I got my moneys worth! Now I know how to do it.

Default Replacing the parking light/DRL bulb

Save the money guys!

Turn on the headlights and back off one position to kill the lights.
Unscrew the 3 small screws on the black plastic housing around the headlight. Gently pull the housing clear. Reach down around the headlight unit and release the bulb holder. It unscrews counter clockwise but it has a plastic clip which you need to squeeze to release it. Change the bulb. Reseat the bulb holder and turn until it clicks back in place. Put the plastic housing back in place making sure to locate the small plastic lug in the bracket on the headlamp cover. Replace the 3 screws and close the lights.
10 minute job.

I'd like to add that I found it tons easier if I removed the hood bumpers just next to the headlights.

BTW I siliconed the head of a 2 inch plastic christmas tree plug over the hole in the top of the light housing... hasn't burned out yet.

What is the # of the bulb? Is it a "standard" bulb that can be bought at any car parts store? Or do you need to get it from GM?

Thanks,
