I have had mine for quite some time now. This thing is awesome !
The factory should put these in the FRC's.
Everyone that see's mine thinks it was some kind of option from the factory. THAT IS HOW NICE IT LOOKS !
No Flames intended ......
But about price :::: Look at the Z06 owners that paid "OVER" invoice for their car...... Now to those guys - What is $400 for a nice addition to your FRC ??????????
I just don't get it !
I feel that $400 is a little steep also. If they were about half that I would have one by now. I know its a Corvette and everything is expensive for it, but I think things are getting out of hand. I am far from $loaded$ and work very hard to keep this car and afford the mods that I want. I bought the car used and most of my mods I bought used too. So if anyone has a used partition they want to sell, let me know!!
I understand that a profit must be made but if you lower your profit you will increase volume.

I've had mine for a about a year now and love it. Mine's Naugahyde on one side and carpet on the other. Made my own latches. Used Jeep TJ Series hood latches. Looks factory and is well secured when in place. Also recommend Dyna-Mat. I removed all rear carpeting and installed 3/16" Dyna-Mat on all horizontal surfaces and used 1/16" on all vertical surfaces. The combination of panel and Dyna-Mat really quiets things down in back.

The road noise reduction is the biggest asset to me. Its really quiet inside now. My hats off to Andy dor a great design. The Z06 emblem in the center looks great to. Bob[/color]
I have had mine for about 3 months. It is the one from Nate @ extreme also. I have been really happy with it, and I have only one issue with it...It seems as if the adhesive used on the velcro has seeped off and is now on the carpet. It hasn't been all that hot in Northern California, but that is probably the cause. Anyone else notice this, and is there any suggestions on how to clean this stuff off without damaging the carpet? Thanks!
I think the idea is excellent and the product is excellent.
I too use to own a car audio business and have been in the field for close to 17 years. Once the patterns and construction process is finalized, this item could be manufactured and sold in the retial channel for around $200 and still leave the manufacture and the retailer a decent profit margin.
Most car audio products have anywhere from a 35% to 60% markup and it would seem that with a sell price of $400, were looking at the upper end of the car audio profit range
If I had time, I would build one myself, but I would be willing to drop $200 for a finished product.
Since I started this discussion I thought I should write a few lines in defence of Andy. Fisrt off, I bought mine from West Coast Corvettes during a forum special. I only paid $359.00, no TAX and no SHIPPING charges. This is an excellent product and 100% AMERICAN made. You won't see made in China on this piece. It really amazes me when I look at the list of Mods some people put down in their forum letters. It must be thousands yet they complain about spending 300-400 dollars for something that really enhances their Z06. Not to mention helping the sound level in the car, Plus a little storage area that keeps your CDs and other crap from sliding all the way to the rear when you give your car a little gas. Great job Andy and thaks a million for a great product. By they way someone else also mentioned the fact that some of the Z06 owners were crazy enough to pay thousands over MSRP. I believe it. They are probally the ones complaining about the price of the partition. Just my opinion, Bob in Augusta, Ga
Remember you have an audience of thousands upon thousands of faceless viewers who can voice their opinions. Its your product, your effort, your risk. We all make choices as to what we want to buy based on the perceived value. No matter what you price your product at - someone will always find it too expensive for what it is. Period. Keep up the good work and re-read the compliments - they say a lot about who you are.
During my test drive of an '01 Z06, I noticed that the tire noise was quite evident and pervasive above 70 on concrete. On the other hand, I thought the exhaust and engine sounds were just about right.
Can someone give some clarification around what sounds this partition cuts down? I wouldn't want to lose too much of the exhaust note.
My 2 cents - $400 is a lot for a panel, but it may just be worth it. That's the price you pay when someone has a new and unique product. He probably deserves to make some profit for his unique (?) solution.
I made my own, about 3 hours in it, $40 or so in matierals, put a sub and a couple full range speakers plus an amp. After that, it ended up costing about $400!! Anyone want a template for it to cut your own, let me know, I'll send ya one. Gratis.
3 hours is pretty good . Did all those speakers in the rear move the image rearward though.
These cars image well from the factory ,I would believe that placing fullrange speakers in the rear would hurt the front stage considerably.
A subwoofer I can understand though..
Just my 2 cents on speaker placement in this car .
Can you post pics of the finished out install.I would like to see ho you ended up mounting everything.

I used 3/4" MDF and covered it in a high grade auto carpet. After putting the speakers in it, it was alittle weaker structurally than I wanted, so I added a small brace from the horz. bar at the forward trunk support. The sound is a bit more lost regarding a soundstage, but all levels are adjustable and I have a on/off switch under the console cover that controls 12+v to the RF amp to return to only factory radio. The increase in freq range and bass more than make up for the soundstage when I'm blasting along with the windows down, plus I can take out the partition and all the speakers when I go to the track. I'll try to get some pics, haven't gotten into digital photos yet.
