I was just reading the posts that were made overnight on your Halltech thread ... they keep getting better and better. Sounds like you had even more trouble with the Halltech than I did with my Blackwing. For some morbid reason, that makes me feel better.
What's scary is that both you and I have 5 rolls of Frost King coming in in a day or so for our 'sound abatement' projects ... I just wonder what can go wrong here. For some reason, removing perfectly good panels, with the possibility of them not going back in correctly, is frightening.
We might be candidates for "Fear Factor" ... or perhaps "America's Funniest Home Videos".
I'm saving all these posts for a book I'll be selling in the near future. I figure I can sell the rights to the people who made the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies!
BTW, why don't you do yours first and let me know how it goes? Heh-heh-heh.

If you plan to add Z06 rear brake ducts and scoops get someone to do if for you since I was nervous about puuting the first cut into the rocker panel. Once you drill the first hole there is not turning back. Plus there are NO instructions

Thanks Zilla, but that's not one of the mods I'm planning to make so I'm safe on that one anyway!
I am also in the process of installing Frost King in the cockpit area. So far I have removed and replaced the carpet behind the seats and installed Frost King under that carpet. Yesterday I removed the driver's seat. The four nuts holding the seat were off in a few minutes but it seemed like an eternity getting the wiring connectors to release and disconnect. One problem was I was doing this by myself. I ended up placing a block under the front of the seat to hold it up while I struggled with the wires. By the time I finally got them loose I was sweating profusely and couldn't see through the sweat on my glasses. I didn't get a chance to work on it today so I'll try to get the carpet out tomorrow and if I can still see straight at that time I may tackle the passenger seat.
Tonight I went to HOME DEPOT and bought an aluminum faced (both sides) water heater jacket. It is rated at R-19 and has a fiber looking pad between the aluminum covers. It costs $19.99 and should be more than enough material to insulate the sides of the tunnel in the cockpit. It is thicker than Frost King but I don't think it will be too thick. I do plan to cut out the area where the seat edge rubs against the tunnel carpet so it won't be too tight.

You do know that REFLETIX is recommended for the tunnnel, don't you?
My 5 rolls of Frost King were just delivered, just in time for the holidays. I also ordered a roll of metallic tape for the seams.
If I need Reflectix for the tunnel, Lowe's carries that locally.
Now I've just got to get up the nerve to start removing things. The carpet will be bad enough ... removing the seats might be a decision to be deferred til later ... once I see how the carpet reinstall goes.
I bought my rolls of Frost King at Lowes so I don't know why you had to order it.
Do you have the factory shop manual showing the instructions for removing the seats? I have them and it tells you to remove the push pins holding the little plastic covers over the front seat nuts. You simply pull out on the center pin and the cover will come off. Next you remove the 4 nuts. Next it tells you to disconnect the wiring to the the seat. It has two connectors on the outboard side of the seat rail. I had a heck of a time getting them to pull apart. If you have a helper to hold the seat up a little that operation would be much easier but I was flying solo.
There is no way to get your floor carpet out without removing the seat. I have considered removing the console to insulate under it but I don't want to get into that many wires and connectors.
I am like you guys in that I am very apprehensive about taking my beautiful "baby" apart. However, I am even more apprehensive about someone else messing with it. They would not have the same level of caring that we have. I figure with my factory shop manuals and the Forum I can perform simple tasks such as these. Good luck!
For some reason, no Lowe's store here carries Frost King. I suppose what is carried in inventory at particular stores is up to the local manager. I ordered it from Home Depot (they don't carry it locally either) because they would deliver straight to my door. No shipping charges for orders over $50. So it's just like going to the store, except you use no gas.
Lowe's has Relfectix in several different sizes. It may be used in lieu of Frost King in this area, but it costs a bit more.
Thanks for the info on seat removal. This will be an interesting project, but worth it with my Borlas.
