Someone with a ZO6 ... please explain engine upgrades the LS6 engine has that the LS1 lacks.
Specifically differences in : Intake manifold, cams, valves, head, ... port sizes, Mass airflow sensor sizes, throttle body, etc.
If I put in a H/C package in my LS1 ... will it be advisable to also upgrade to those above items the LS6 engine has ... to get best performance from headers/cams.

The Z06 comes equipped with an on board computer with a radar device that identifies the car in front of it. If something such as a Porsche or Mustang is identified the computer takes control and does what is necessary to pass the car ahead. It can be a surprise if you don't know what's happening. The first time I passed a Porshe I did so screaming with my foot on the brake as hard as I could push.

Thanks TJ for the Actioncenter link. It compares the 2001 model year engines ... but, gives additional changes that occurred in 2002, for the LS6 engine (405 HP). I believe no additional changes occurred during 2003-2004 for the LS6.
They show no changes in the LS1 after 2001.
Looks like the '02 LS6 differs from the LS1 in many respects. New MAF sensor, air filter housing, different camshaft and valves, new cast iron exhaust manifold, new cylinder head, different valve lift/duration and profiles, higher valve springs, and computer changes to control the above.
Can anyone else shed light on other changes in the two engines.
Also will MAF sensor, throttle body, intake manifold, and cylinder head alterations be needed when adding performance header/cams to the LS1 engine.
I feel the H/C manufacturer will know and advise me ... but, does anyone know what is really essential vs just wasting extra money w/o really needing to add them to make H/C alterations most effective.
