Default Memory Saver

Can anyone direct me to a store where I can purchase a "memory saver", which is an inexpensive gadget that plugs into your cigarette lighter or auxiliary plug and will prevent your radio from locking up when the car battery is removed? I can find them in catalogs and on the internet, but I want to go to a store and pick it up.
Your assistance is appreciated.

it's easy to make one with a 9 volt battery (and a connector/jack for it) and a cigarette lighter plug (from Radio Shack). Just connect the positive from the battery jack to the positive for the cigarette lighter plug, and the negative to the negative, wrap it up with tape and you're set...

I have one I bought at Pep Boys, I believe. A lot of parts stores carry them.

Try an auto parts store. Something like Pep Boys or AutoZone should have something that would work.

FWIW...I wasn't able to find one last year when I changed my battery, so I just made the swap as fast as possible and didn't lose any memory settings. I did have to put in the lock code for my radio because I have that enabled, but after the code was in I was good to go. Good luck.
