Could you give us the details on how to get refunded for the CLB?
I don't see anything on my 2nd Recall Notice.
I recieved mine in the mail today. I just bought my C5 3 months ago and it already had the CLB installed. Should I take it in to the dealer or just forget about it? Thanks, B
I have a 98 with a manual tranny. I tried two different CLB's and both of them set off the pull key wait ten seconds message. Some 97-98 have this problem with the CLB and some are lucky and don't.
I bought both of mine from JMX and was able to return them for a full refund. Make sure if you have one of the early cars that the vendor will let you return the product if it causes this problem. I would suggest trying one to see if it will work with your car, again, as long as you can return it if it doesn't.
I did not take a chance with GM reprograming or the CLB cause my car is a 97 with severe CL problems for 4 years. After I got so fed up I had the dealership install an Auto Trans Lock Plate. This will NOT let the solnoid popup. It works but you do have to sign a wavier.

my first notice (july 2004)came with a form that was self explanatory. I dont have a copy of the form. A paragraph of the letter with the form sez:
Reimbursement: The enclosed form explains what reimbursement is available and how to request reimbursement if you have paid for repairs for the recall condition.
It was a simple form. Name, address, vin, etc..
They wanted proof of the repair. Receipt or work order.
I was refunded $38.95. The purchase price of the CLB. I tried to bill them for 2 hours of labor at $75 an hour, but they didnt go for it.
If you dont have that form, call Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at 800-222-1020 and see if they will send out another one
