Nope never. I will drive by and if there is a spot our right out front I'll slip the valet $10, back it my self and let them hold my keys 'til I'm ready.
Otherwise I park in the south 40 all by my lonsome, or I'll take the Lexus and let the valet park it.
NO WAY!!!!! What I do is pull up to the valet and ask the guy where
he would like for me to park it. On the way back I will give the guy some
money and ask him if he would keep an eye on it for me. This has worked for me every time.
Maybe I just have a higher threshold of irritation, or maybe I have things of greater consequence to worry about but, yes, of course I let them valet park it.
If the car gets damaged, the insurance can take care of it. If the car is so fragile that valet parking is going to destroy it, I wouldn't have bought one in the first place.
I bought this car to enjoy, nor worry myself to death about it getting wet, snowed on, dirty, touched, used, or valet parked.
I have refused many times to allow valet to park my car. If I can't find a solution, I will not attend the function. Its not that I mind so much, but if the car is damaged in any way I hate the hassel of getting it corrected and trying to get the responsible party to take care of it. it's just not worth the BS.
Never. Never. Never.
Last week I saw a valet guy ride up a curb and scrape someone's BMW wheel and rocker panel. He then took off real fast. Did I say never?
Last time I valet parked ( 6 years ago ) they lost the keys to my car and it was a nightmare getting reimbursed and new key made.
Never again.
Hell, the last time I valet parked, they lost my car! As well as several others. It was my old MB at a large Xmas function. There was a guy screaming at them: "A Ferrari key is very distinctive! How do you lose a Ferrari key!!!" Took them 2.5 hours to locate my car. They had tagged it for the wrong lot. Don't know what ever happened to the guy in the Ferrari.
I work for one of the large casinos. I supervise 16 valets. I have three valet crash reports from just this last weekend sitting on my desk as we speak. Nuff said. I would never Valet park my car!
Ok... Well I never posted my valet story I dont think..
I valet'd my car in Vegas a few months ago at the Rio (I was staying there). The Valet parking lot is covered and right next to where you drop the car off. So I drop it off there... I go to pick up my car a 2 days later (my parents met me in Vegas and were yet to see my Vette) so they go to get my car, come back, and say, "Sir, you need to come with me." I thought they wrapped my car around a light pole... Turned out my tire was flat.. But here's the kicker.. The valet parking lot is covered and has one entrance with cameras. The tire was flattened on the rim, with no visible damage to it (nails, tears in sidewall, etc.) so I reinflate my non-runflats to see if it holds air, and let it sit again overnight... Tire pressure was perfect. Moral of the story, is Im about 99% sure one of the punk *** kids there let the air out of my tire. So, no, I have used the valet before, but I will never again..
No, I will tip the valet guy and park it myself. I live in Manhattan and the guys at my garage wash cars for $20. I give them the $20 and wash the car myself.
