Default Intake searching

Have a '99 hardtop, 16k. I'm looking for a intake upgrade and considering a Blackwing, Halltech Stinger or a Westcoast Hurricane. There are some companies still offering an SLP cold air shroud that covers the top of the Blackwing but it is discontinued.

This shroud seems like a perfect solution. ANyone know why it is discontinued? Any reccomendations? The Halltech is the best bang for the buck, 235.00 filter, stinger coupler.
I appreciate any advise.

I have a Blackwing and when I saw the Halltech Stinger-R (after I bought the Blackwing), I was kicking myself because the Halltech came with a bridge etc. The Blackwing did not.

If I had to do it all over again, I would get the Halltech Stinger-R. Great value for the money.

I agree that the Halltech Stinger-R represents the best bang for the buck, but in order to have the best of all worlds, install cold air induction by following the procedure found here:
http://www.conceptualpolymer.com/corvette_c5_corner.htm

Not only will you be able to keep the intake air cold (preventing power loss), but you will also direct cold air into the hot engine bay. The total cost after buying the Stinger-R (or even if you have a Blackwing) is less than $40.

Either the Blackwing or the Halltech would be good choices. I have the Blackwing and have been pleased with it, but I would like to try the Halltech.

The performance is similar if the engine is mostly stock. However, the Halltech's extra-large airbridge (along with the smooth throttlebody coupler) will likely allow greater airflow after heads/cam or forced induction, along with a less restrictive cat-back exhaust. Just to give you an idea of how a few cars fared in a recent dyno day:

Year/Model/Mods/RWHP/RWTQ

2000/Vert/Vararam_Corsa Pace/326.3/329.5
2002/Coupe/Blackwing_Borla Stingers/328.1/340.5
2001/Coupe/Halltech Stinger-R_Borla Stingers/328.6/352.2
2002/Z06/Bone Stock/361.7/347.2

My sig shows the gains I achieved with the intake and cat-back.
