That's the best way to do it. I've heard that relying mostly, or solely, on leaving it in gear, causes un-necessary strain on the drivetrain.

Reverse it the tightest gear. And I always set the parking brake too.

Neutral, no brake. I put a block of wood in front of the front tire and another one behind the rear tire.

manual says reverse and hand brake. Heard some where when parked in reverse has something to do less current draw on your battery

Used to use only hand brake until I had to run into the office, parked it on an incline, pulled the e-brake, came out 5 minutes later to find my car at the bottom of the hill and jumped a curb.... No damage thankfully... Checked the e-brake - it was fully engaged. Car had 35K miles at time... Now always in gear and brake!!
