FYI, the longer you idle your engine cold, the more likely you are to get carbon buildup in your combustion chamber, since your engine is running rich for much longer. Just start it and drive right away, but use light pressure on the gas pedal until your oil warms up. I keep my rpms below 1500 until the oil hits 100-120F and try to never go full throttle at all when it's below 180F (although sometimes at the dragstrip on cold days if you have to wait too long between runs the oil temp will drop a little below this so it's unavoidable)
