I have seen, in the specs, that trailering is not recommended for the C5. Does anyone have experience with this? Details of your arrangement? Thanks in advance!

Trailering not good for a C5?? Where on earth ( or Mars) di you get that idea??
I tralier my car all the time. to and from the track. No problems what so ever. The only minor catch is to use the t-hooks and 5000 lbs straps. The t-hooks go into the jacking puck holes on the frame of the car.
X the straps in front and the rear. i.e. Right front stap to Left front tiedown Left front strap to right front tie down. and the same for the rear.

This comes right from the the Corvette specs on [url]www.50thregistry.com/2003_corvette_specs.pdf
CORVETTE TRAILERING DATA
Trailering is not recommended for Corvette.
It doesn't make sense to me so I asked. BTW - AU N EGL - do you fold your mirrors and how do you get out? Thanks for the help!
Oh I think Chevy means is dont use a Corvette to PULL a trailer. However, many autocrosses and track guys pull a small tire trailer with their vettes with no porblems.
Yes I fold my mirrors in when I put the car in. How do I get out of the car?? I aint a contortionest for nothing. I have a racing seat too soo it does take a bit if body twisiting to get out thought the drivers side window. I have a coupe so I could take the top off and put the top in the back of the car, but then the car gets dirty inside. So . .
It is also a very good insentive to loose a few pounds off the body.
When I pull the car into and back out of the trailer I do have ppl guiding me as I can not see where my front wheels have to be when I pull in. Backing out is not so bad, just pull straight back.
Say it aint so
This comes from the guy who never lets me forget that my car gets trailered?
But seriously....many people here trailer their cars to the track and shows. No other way of doing it in the winter in the N.E. or if the track and/or shows are hundreds of miles away.

Steve.......where do you hook to the car to use the winch?
AU N EGL....where did you get the T hooks you talk about? I have looked for something like that but have not found any. I think that would be better than going through the A Arms like I am doing now.

Here's where I bought my T-Hooks: http://www.awdirect.com/
As far as using a winch, I use the same T-Hooks & straps on the front 2 frame slots and run them up to the front of car. Then connect winch hook to straps and pull the car up on trailer.
Don't know if this is the best way to do it, but it works great for me.
