28,000 on mine.
Original GY EMT that came with the car when I bought it with 23,700 on the clock. Lots of life left and I do not spin the tires (intentionally) so they should be good for another 10k I would guess.
35K on my Y2K. Would like new ones this summer. Thinking of Michelin ZPs. But I don't like how they look on the car. will most likely go with GY run flat again.
My 1999 got 29k put on its Runflats...that is without spinning them more than probably 2 times. (It was an auto vert more for cruising). They still had some tread left and wore evenly. I think F1s are a great tire.
My GY runflats have 40,000 miles on them!
So does the car. I've put 1,000 miles sinse i bought it in oct.
The tires are shot, but it's not that bad on dry roads.
Traction control really helps!
43000 on the original run-craps with my 6-speed vert., mostly highway miles. Replaced them with Michelin (SP?) Pilot Sport Zero Pressure (ZPs), which did wonders for the road noise.
I think you have all the info. Now you need to drive two C5's one with runflats one without. I choose the non-runflats when I replaced my runflats that had 30k on them and I didn't trust them any more. I did get a flat with the runflats and nobody wanted to repair it so I bought a plug kit and fixed it myself and put another 20k on the tire before I bought the D3's. Do yourself a huge favor and get non-runflats a $20 compressor and a $10 plug kit. They fit into one of the rear recesses and you'll never know it's there. The ride is 100% smoother, Better traction. Quieter by a mile. There's just no reason to buy runflats. If you do get a flat with one you can drive up to 200 miles on it to then have to replace that tire. That's an expensive flat. My .02 Hope it helps. I know what a limited budgets all about so I thought I'd give you an opinion that has been where your coming from. Merry Christmas. Save the wave.
I got 26,000 on mine. Costs about $1300 to replace them; that's five cents a mile for tires, not good. In fact really bad. (The last time I bought tires I had 82K miles on Michelins on a 535I BMW). Then there's ten cents a mile for gas.......I figure $10/day depreciation......maybe I'll buy a bicycle.....
I sold my 89 a few months ago and just bought a 98 conv with a new set of GY EMT - I hope they don't last too long so I can put a set of good tires on. Overpriced, noisey, ect -
