In all of you folks estimation, what is the five biggest problems you've encountered with your fifth generation Corvette? It could anything as simple as a arkward latch to the locked steering column problem I've heard about? :o

Every time I get in the car, I can't get rid of that silly grin I get...

Seriuosly though:
-Leaky rear-end (4 times) before I found a Chevy dealer who could actually fix it.
-Which leads to another problem, finding a Chevy Dealer with a good C5 Tech!
-How hot the center console gets with the top down.

For me, the car has been almost problem free...much better than my Lexus! The thrill of driving off-sets any issue I have had.

#1: GMs/Chevys attitude toward service in general.
#2: Certain Chevy dealerships having no clue how to service a Vette at all.
#3: Entire roof latching system on a coupe (if something breaks).
#4: Known issues not being fixed at production time or at the dealership before car is sold.

I won't bother to rant about any of this, but simply put, love my Coupe and finally found a dealership with a set of techs with a clue, but I shouldn't have had to spent 4 months of my time and 8 days in shop to figure out the problem for them and then forced to find a dealership that could do the work.

04 Coupe: Fuel leaks (gas tank) - replace tank, hoses and seal; Rear axle (grease leak) - replace axle assembly; Rear Differential (oil leak) - replace seal and gasket and still leaking.

Recurring Diff leaks (I personally have had 4)
Fuel Sending Unit

Column Lock
Battery Leaks

There are others (and I have had a few of them) but I see the above 5 all the time

They relaced my seal a yr ago. Then they said GM's new fix is to replace the cover, which they did 6 mos ago. Its now leaking again. My dealer says he cant do a good will cuz its too far out of warranty, even though he just did this 6 mos ago. but He's gonna try something else

I absolutely dont like to call GM. I like my dealer, who I have a good relationship with, a Chance. But this will go to GM because I dont want any more diff leaks or have to pay for solutions that dont work.

Here's mine:

Oil Consumption
Leaky differential seals
Leaking transmission gasket
Rubbing noise in the rear end

Sorry, I've only had about 4 problems so far.

Thanks very much, seems like the differential and the column lock are the biggest problems. However I know that there are only a handfull of Chevrolet dealerships who not only know, but can fix one of their own cars. I have a very good dealership a few miles away, Rothrock chevrolet.

Initially, I had a low coolant warning on the DIC, but the dealer fixed that, second time he tried. Otherwise, problem free, 2004 mn6 vert.
