Any comments, suggestions, recommedations, stories regarding bottled fuel system cleaner agents. (I just bought the $13 STP fuel system cleaner but have not poured the bottle into my gas tank yet)

Happy Holidays everyone!
Use Redline FI cleaner.. This stuff is VERY safe and is not solvent based. Some of these FI cleaners contain harsh solvents that can attack rubber seals over time. Redline is based on detergents which are not harmful to sensitive parts.

Redline Complete Fuel System Cleaner here. Have used it occasionally over the past 4 years. Safe for all parts including O2 sensors.
By using a top-tier gasoline like Chevron or Texaco, there is no need to use a fuel cleaner. Chevron and Texaco gasolines have proven that they can remove deposits left behind by other gasolines. Your owner's manual specifically states not to use additives.........they will destroy your injectors, your seals, and destroy everything in between......
How did Shell become a 'top-tier' gasoline??? Shell has a documented history of having a high sulfur content which will eat away your fuel sensor contacts. Anyways, did you notice that Shell gasolines always cost more than all other brands........I figure that is to offset their "rebates" from their credit cards....some rebate/some rip-off.
Thanks! I will use this one since I already have it. I will definitely get Techron the next time.
For Chevron to work, you need more than one tank. Both Chevron and Texaco gasolines use Techron and have shown that deposits are cleaned after 5 tankfuls of gasoline. You can't just use it once. If you continously use Chevron or Texaco gasolines, there is no need to spend extra money or to use the Techron additive which can be separtely purchased. I would only buy the additive if for some reason I had to use a few tanks of non top tier gasoline...there is no other reason to purchase the additive if you are using Chevron or Texaco since the gasoline already contains Techron.
