Vette is Gone
Just want to let all of my brothers and sisters vette drivers know that my days of driving my vette came to a smashing end.
On December 17th, 2004 at 4:50 p.m. I was on Highway 50, westbound heading to Davis to p/u my daughter from UCD. Traffic was heavy. It was so heavy that we all came to a dead stop. As I was sitting in my vette, waiting for traffic to move again...then it appeared. The pick-up truck was heading towards me at a high rate of speed. I was wondering if he was going to slow down, but he did not. With horror, I watched this truck heading towards me like a torpedo. This left me with no place to go...then I heard a brief skidding of his tires as he hit his brakes and then a thunderous thud sound along with broken glass moved me from lane one to lane two, speading vette debris all over. It took me a while to get myself together. So, when I tried to get out of my broken vette, it took me several hard hits to get my door open to get out. At that point, (being in shock and badly shaken) I asked the driver for his information. This man hit my vette so hard that the headlamps on my vette popped up! He is speed was about 50 or 60 mph! His truck suffered some damage. His right from fender, headlamp and a flat right front tire. His airbag delpoyed saving him, but did not have such luck. I was told that airbags deploy only when the car is struck in the front.
Shortly after the accident, they hauled my broken, twisted vette away and I was taken to the hospital for treatment. My entire left side of my body, neck, head and lower back suffered injury. It was pretty bad. The hospital sent me home with a enough drugs to knock out a couple of elephants and a rhino. The vette sustain serious damage and when I saw it at the body shop, the entire body of the vette look bent. The left rear wheel is turned out towards the left, fiberglass is broken, ripped in some places and the left exhaust pipe was cramed up between the tire and body of the car. It just did not look natural.
Right now, it looks like it may be total for a loss. I do have a attorney and I will let him fight my battles. As for me, I am still healing and I thank God that I am still alive!

I was gonna say, glad to see your not seriuously injured, but it kinda sounds like you are beat up somewhat. Get well soon.As for the Vette, well, hopefully your driving of vette days will have a new begining and you'll get a good settlement and be able to get another one

Thank God your daughter wasn't with you yet (right? - no mention of her in accident).
Good luck and keep your head up!
