Funny, these cars were just mentioned on the car show, a local radio deal, last week end.
They were recounting how these cars almost sunk one dealership.
When the cars first came out, the corvette fan boys scrambled to get one, paying high prices. One of the lots, after one of those home run deals, decided to expand their pace car inventory and sell some more.
They started to buy cars off of other lots, paying a premium. However,in a short time, the wanna be collectors and fan boys had gone home and the market was gone. THe one lot was paying a premium, the trading lots were glad to get rid of them. The purchasing lot really got stuck, at one point owning the majority of pace car production on the market, and almost lost the dealership.
There is one of these yellow wheeled wonders for sale on a lot down on Pacific Coast Hwy. I don't know the price, but it displayed on the second line for a while, vanished, and then pops up again months later.
Me, I think black wheels look like out of place on Vettes, but I've got a very good friend that loves them. Some folks hate chrome wheels, I like them.
there's no need top insult someone's likes and dislikes.
