In high school I had a 79 6.6...this was in 82/83. Midnight metallic blue with camel interior, brown panels, Shadow Louvers (remember those?), T Tops and all associated T/A stickers...I loved how the cowl would shake at a light, and the steering wheel and brushed dash was awesome. I loved that car and it's the second favorite car I've owned of all time, second to the vette of course!
I had a 76 Z28 in 1987/88...got rid of it when I joined US Army.
My dad had a 70 GTO vert when I was a really little kid. I remember it was loud and fast, and I liked the squishy front end...totally different from other cars. My older brother tore it up.

Same for my red '76 Trans Am! Did you have the big "Fire-chicken" on the hood too?

I picked up a pristine 94 TA (LT1) when shopping for my first Vette. The TA was about 8k less than the Vette I was looking at so I went the prudent way and bought the TA. The TA was a nice car but no Vette, lesson learned "get what you really want the first time and you'll never look back".
1994 Teal with T-Tops. Was super sweet for first 6½ years but went to hell in a handbasket after that. Just started having problem after problem. The doors delaminated because of the curvature of the window, all kinds of stuff.
I owned
'79 Firebird
'84 Camaro Z28 5.0 HO
'89 Camaro RS
'84 Camaro Z28
'95 Formula Firebird (currently my daily driver)
Love my Vette! which occasionally gets to take me to work..
I got a red 1995 trans am in late 1994, loaded out...joined a local Fbody club and have great times...after 9 years the car was getting stale, I was so uptight about it, I never drove it, when I sold it two months ago it only had 21,000 on it.
I got my 2000 red C5 and I love it, much more driveable and more fun...I think about the TA sometimes, but don't miss it.
The vette is king. Congrats on getting one...
Owned a 2000 TA in 2002. Bought it cause I didnt have the patience to save my pennies for the vette which was my goal in the first place. Sold the TA in 2003, saved my pennies and bought a 2002 QS Vert in 2004. Liked the TA, LOVE the vette.
I had a 1967 rs/ss camaro with a 396 bbc. lots of motor and chassis work done. I have owned the car for 20yrs and sold it to buy my vette. Best thing i ever did!
Not sure about the younger years, I'm only 36, but I have had several FBodies... 87 IROC, 96 Z28, and a 98 T/A. Loved them all, but while I was driving them, I knew it was just to hold me over until I could get my Vette
