Hi, Everybody I am new to this site and wanted to introduce myself.I was planing on a new project and wanted to get some advise, in the next couple of months I am planing on getting a 99 hardtop. This car will be daily driven so realibilty is very important to me.I was planing on adding H/C to the car to try and make 500rwhp or as close to it as possiable what do you recommend?
Welcome to the forum! These cars make great daily drivers. As far as the performance, you'll get more answer in Tech, or scan and tune. But 450rwhp with head cam is quite easily achieved. Good luck on your quest for HP
Chris
Welcome...500 at the rear wheels will be tough with just Heads and cam and be able to drive it each day.
Many people here will give you suggestions....we love to spend money for other people.
Mortgage your house now... and get what you want the first time... .. 450 is a more reasonable goal if you want a daily driver; unless you want to add some n20.
Welcome!!! 500rwhp is not an easy number to come up with, just with 346 ci, bolt ons and H/C. I am not sure if anyone has really done it yet.?.? Plan on spending some $$$$, thats for sure. Are going to do this by yourself, or work with a tuner/shop?

He's right.
A 500rwhp Corvette is a project car, not a daily driver. It will spend more time in the shop than you think....and you can't drive it when it's being wrenched on.
400rwhp might be more realistic? or buy a Toyota Echo at the same time for your DD.

eeeeasy there man--we talked about this.
he's right on teh 450 part--I'd recommend heads/cam/bolt-ons and n2o. heads/cam/bolt-ons will get you close to 450, slap a 150 shot on there and you'll be good to go.
Thanks to all for getting back to me. It seem like 450-425 rwhp is where I should stay.I was hopeing for 500rwhp because I notice two hardtop Z06 hauling some DR to the track .I talked to one of the guys he said he had 525rwhp .that alot of power and to be street driven I thought that was very intresting.

Maybe he had 525rwhp with nitrous, FI, or bigger motor - thats pretty difficult with a h/c package? Welcome, by the way, to the forums! (Don't forget to wave! ) As others before have said, anything over 450ish and you are defintely pushing the envelope on a daily driven car unless you go bigger motor. You could go iron block 408ci, and have 550ish and a torque curve flat as a 2 x 4, and that wouldnt break the bank...Tons of options out there...Good luck!
