I have the harness K waiting for installation. It's going in in the spring when I do the gauge bezels. Kill two birds with one stone.

The "pull key" message is not always indicative of a column lock problem.
This message can happen for many reasons...basically, anytime the BCM "gets confused" during startup, it will happen. Some of the common causes (and I'm sure there's more) are:
The quick key out/in/restart will do it every time.
A dirty key resistor pellet will cause it.
The column lock malfunctioning can also cause it.
Because the latter of the above cases has proven to be very common...all too often, people tend to automatically equate this error message to the column lock, and that's not always the case.
