I have not made any U-turns, but have many times changed lanes to avoid wet road (from sprinklers or such).
ESPECIALLY on the way to a show!

This is a 100% true story. Between 1980 & 1983 I live in Metarie, LA (a suburb of New Orleans) and my office was in downtown New Orleans (NO). Well NO floods very easily and one evening a severe thunderstorm came through and dumped about 6 inches of rain there in about three hours. I had a 1978 camaro and decided to try the 15 mile drive home. There were so many detours and delays that the drive took 7 hours, but I made it. At one time I had the left side of the car up on the median (neutral ground in NO) and the right side still on the street with the water level on the right side halfway up the passenger side window. Most of my coworkers decided to leave their cars in the parking garage and spend the night in a downtown hotel. The parking garage was completely flooded and everyone else's car was totaled from flood damage.

I think I washed my car a total of four times last year.

Yep if my car has just been washed! Nope, if it is already somewhat dusty/dirty. Saves me two hours of cleaning!!

I know the feeling. I've even avoided driving on the highway after 10:00 pm because the landscape sprinklers are on a timer and are soaking the streets at that time.
